Painting walkthrough Victrix British napoleonic infantry
Prime your model with a matt black spray paint.
Paint white in the eye sockets, then tidy the edges and dot in the pupil with black.
Undercoat the flesh areas with Foundry ‘Flesh A‘. Highlight the flesh areas with Foundry ‘Flesh b‘, leaving the undercoat colour in the deepest recesses of the skin. E.g. In-between fingers and smile lines. Then highlight the flesh again with Foundry ‘Flesh C’, accentuating the most raised areas of the face and hands E.g. the tip of the nose, cheek bones, knuckles etc.
Undercoat the wood on the musket with Foundry ‘Spear shaft A’. Then Highlight the wood with Foundry ‘Spear Shaft B’, Painting lines length ways to give the effect of wood grain. Knots can be added for realism. Paint Foundry ‘Chainmail’ on musket barrel and bayonet.
Undercoat the jacket with Foundry ‘Scarlet A’. Undercoat trousers, plume, shoulder pads and rope on shako with Foundry ‘Arctic grey A’.
Undercoat blanket roll with Foundry ‘Slate grey A’. Undercoat bag with Foundry ‘Boneyard A’. Undercoat water bottle with Foundry ‘Bavarian cornflower blue A’.
Highlight the jacket with Foundry ‘Scarlet B’ painting the raised areas of the cloth leaving the undercoat showing in the deepest recesses. Highlight the trousers and plume in the same way with Foundry ‘Artic grey B’.
Highlight blanket roll with Foundry ‘Slate grey B’. Highlight bag with Foundry ‘Boneyard B’. Highlight water bottle with Foundry ‘Bavarian cornflower B’.
Highlight the jacket a second time with Foundry ‘Scarlet C’ accentuating the most raised areas of the cloth. Highlight the trousers, plume, rope and shoulder pad in the same way as the previous step with Foundry ‘White’.
Highlight the blanket roll again with Foundry ‘Slate grey C’. Highlight the bag again with Foundry ‘Boneyard C’. Highlight the water bottle again with Foundry ‘Bavarian cornflower C’.
Paint the water bottle strap with Foundry ‘Conker brown C’. Paint collar and cuffs with Foundry ‘Forest green B’.
Undercoat the hair with Foundry ‘Bay brown A’. Highlight the shako, backpack, cartridge box, and shoes with Foundry ‘Charcoal black B’.
Paint lace, and straps with Foundry ‘White’. Highlight hair with Foundry ‘Bay brown B’.

Paint Foundry ‘Burning gold B’ on shako badge, musket trigger, musket butt and coils, water bottle top, buckle on cross straps and scabbard pouch tip. Paint any buttons with Foundry ‘Spearpoint C’. Your figure is now ready for basing.
